Digital Banking Skills Towards Work Competencies Among Employees in a Misamis Oriental Government Bank
Abstract
This study examined the relationship between digital banking skills and work competencies among employees of a government bank in Misamis Oriental. As public financial institutions increasingly adopt digital platforms, employees are required to possess adequate digital banking skills to ensure efficient, accurate, and secure service delivery. Using a descriptive–correlational research design, the study assessed employees’ levels of digital banking skills in terms of system navigation, online transaction processing, data security awareness, and digital customer service. Work competencies were measured in terms of job knowledge, work efficiency, adaptability, problem-solving skills, and service quality. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire administered to bank employees and analyzed using appropriate statistical tools. Findings revealed that employees generally demonstrated a high level of digital banking skills and a high level of work competencies. Results further showed a significant relationship between digital banking skills and work competencies, indicating that employees with stronger digital banking capabilities tend to exhibit higher levels of competence in their work performance. The study concludes that enhancing digital banking skills is vital in strengthening employee competencies in government banking institutions. It recommends continuous digital skills training, system upgrades, and institutional support to improve workforce readiness and service efficiency in the digital banking environment.
