Exploration of the Planet Mars by Spacecraft
Abstract
The planet Mars is a terrestrial planet. The description of the current "desert planet" speaks of its current state, but the mineralogy of its surface reveals its much more geochemically active past. After extensive ground-based research, starting in the 1960s, increasingly reliable information about Mars began to be obtained using various spacecraft.
