Diáspora arxentina nos Estados Unidos: contribucións da diáspora científico-profesional cualificada no país de destino (e orixe)
Abstract
Although Argentina has been a country of emigration, in the mid-20th century it began to experience emigration flows in response to political and institutional crises, authoritarian regimes, and economic crises, with migrants heading to various destinations. This article, based on empirical data from interviews with Argentine residents in the United States and consular offices in that country, takes the case of the skilled Argentine diaspora that has settled in the United States over the last 10 years, characterizes it, and, adopting a transnational perspective, analyzes its contributions to the destination country. However, this reading is not done without also considering its contributions to the country of origin.
