Abstract
The paper examinees the application of commercial arbitration hearing simulations in legal practice education as part of efforts to enhance and modernize legal training through stronger integration of theory and practice. In the context of Vietnam’s deepening international economic integration and the establishment of the International Financial Centre in 2025, the demand for legal professionals equipped with knowledge and skills relevant to arbitration proceedings is expected to increase substantially. However, current legal education in Vietnam remains largely focused on mock trials, while the model of simulated arbitration hearings has not received adequate attention or incorporation into practical training. Integrating arbitration hearing simulations into legal education can help students develop essential professional competencies, including case analysis, legal drafting, advocacy skills, and independent legal reasoning, thereby meeting program learning outcomes and employer expectations. This paper proposes several implementation solutions, including selecting appropriate courses, developing realistic case scenarios, enhancing lecturer capacity, fostering cooperation with arbitration institutions, investing in simulation facilities, and establishing suitable assessment criteria. The study argues that this approach is both practical and effective, contributing to the improvement of legal education quality in the context of Vietnam’s economic integration.
