Anti-diabetic and Anti-inflammatory Potential of Rogeria adenophylla J. Gay
Abstract
Diabetes mellitus and chronic inflammatory conditions continue to pose significant global health challenges, often requiring long-term treatment with synthetic drugs that may lead to adverse effects. Rogeria adenophylla is a plants that is known to cure many illnesses which include breast cancer and inflammation. Although there is no any record of it used for diabetes, but it is harmless to access it's anti-diabetic capability. The aim of this research is to carry out the anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and antioxidant activity of the ethanolic crude extract of Rogeria adnophylla so as to justify it uses in traditional medicine. The bovine albumin test was done for the anti-inflammatory and the inhibition of glucose uptake by yeast cells was used to evaluate the anti-diabetic. These assays carried out on Rogeria adenophylla J. Gay plant extract shows significant potentials of the plant to be used in many pharmaceuticals and in ethno medicine for treatment and curing of illness. The study therefore justifies the use of Rogeria adenophylla J. Gay in traditional medicinal practice.
