Abstract

The limited incorporation of Artificial Intelligence-based tools in teaching processes creates a gap between traditional methodologies and the demands of modern, innovative, student-centered education. The fundamental purpose of this study was to determine the influence of Artificial Intelligence on the teaching of Natural Sciences to students in the Basic Education program at the Technical University of Ambato, within the line of research on social and educational behavior. A pre-experimental design with a mixed approach, descriptive level, and field modality was applied, working with a population of 38 students in the aforementioned degree program. The study allowed for the analysis of changes in academic performance when incorporating innovative tools into the teaching-learning process. The findings show a significant improvement in students' academic performance after the implementation of Artificial Intelligence resources. Furthermore, these tools transform teaching methods, promoting more interactive, personalized teaching that is consistent with the needs of the current context. It is concluded that the integration of AI-based technological tools should be incorporated into teacher training as a key pedagogical support to strengthen the teaching of Natural Sciences.
