Conceptual Review Study of Rutucharya According to Sushruta Samhita
Abstract
Ayurveda is an ancient field of study that gives thorough advice on how to stay healthy and deal with illnesses. Ayurveda’s major goal is to keep Swastha Avastha and stop diseases by following the right food and lifestyle. It stresses a holistic approach by looking at how physical, mental, and environmental aspects affect health. Ayurveda also wants to help people reach four Purusharthas: Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Rutucharya is an important health-promoting principle found in classical writings. Rutucharya is the seasonal routine that people should follow based on how the body and nature change with the seasons. Acharya Sushruta has delineated six Rutus: Shishira, Vasanta, Grishma, Varsha, Sharada, and Hemanta, providing a comprehensive description of their attributes and the changes they bring about in the environment. Sushruta has mostly focused on the natural qualities and Dosha dynamics of each Rutu, unlike other Acharyas who have gone into great detail about food and behavioral regulations. A good understanding and use of Rutucharya helps keep Dosha in balance and stops seasonal illnesses. In today’s world, Rutucharya is more important than ever because of quick changes in the weather, pollution, and changes in how people live. This conceptual analysis seeks to examine Rutucharya as delineated in the Sushruta Samhita and to underscore its significance in illness prevention and health enhancement.
