THE PROGNOSTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF DOPPLEROMETRIC INDICATORS IN ASSESSING THE RISK OF INTRAUTERINE HYPOXIA AND PLACENTAL INSUFFICIENCY
Abstract
Placental insufficiency is a pathological condition in which the physiological remodeling of the uteroplacental vessels is disrupted. This leads to incomplete placentation and the development of chronic hypoxemia and acidosis in the fetus. The most characteristic unfavorable consequences include intrauterine growth retardation, premature birth, and, in the most severe cases, antenatal fetal death.
