CLINICAL FEATURES AND TREATMENT OF TUBERCULOSIS IN HIV-INFECTED PATIENTS
Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among people living with HIV. HIV infection significantly alters the clinical presentation of tuberculosis, complicates its early diagnosis, and reduces the effectiveness of standard anti-tuberculosis treatment regimens. This article reviews the main features of the clinical course of tuberculosis in HIV-infected patients and discusses current approaches to its treatment, taking into account the degree of immunodeficiency and antiretroviral therapy.
