Research on the impact of port supply chain integration on port performance in the Northern region
Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between Port Supply Chain Integration (PSCI) and Port Performance (PP). Using exploratory factor analysis (EFA), six factor groups characterizing PSCI are identified: (1) Information and communication systems; (2) value-added services; (3) multimodal transport systems and operations; (4) supply chain integration activities; (5) organizational relationships; and (6) institutional support. Data were collected through a survey of experts in port management and operations. A linear regression model was subsequently employed to assess the influence of each PSCI factor group on port performance. The preliminary findings provide empirical evidence that can assist port managers in formulating investment and operational strategies aimed at enhancing efficiency and improving the competitive capabilities of seaports.
