Abstract

No matter a person's intelligence, socioeconomic status, or geographic location, the goal of inclusive education is to guarantee that individuals have equal access to quality education. Due to their high cost, inconvenient location and rigid scheduling, traditional methods can exclude less fortunate communities. Because of their accessibility, low cost, and large user base, massive open online courses (MOOCs) and other digital learning technologies are excellent options. Online lectures, readings, quizzes, and discussion boards make up what is known as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). On the internet, anybody may sign up and utilize it. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and digital learning environments have emerged as key technologies for expanding access to education globally. By leveraging openness, networked learning and scalability, they can support inclusive education and contribute to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Evidence from recent studies shows that MOOCs can promote sustainability-related competencies, access across geographical and socio economic boundaries, and support the long term, sustainable use of digital platforms when accompanied by adequate academic and emotional support. However, persistent challenges such as high dropout rates, digital divides, and variable pedagogical quality must be addressed to fully realize their potential as sustainable technologies for inclusive education.
