Abstract

Abstract: Osteoporosis, a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue, leads to increased bone fragility and a higher risk of fractures. Fractures associated with osteoporosis, particularly in the hip, spine, and wrist, represent a significant public health concern due to their frequency, the morbidity and mortality rates they cause, and the economic burden imposed on health care systems globally. The management and treatment strategies for osteoporotic fractures involve a comprehensive approach encompassing acute care, rehabilitation, pharmacological intervention, surgical management where necessary, and long-term preventive strategies.
