FEATURES OF ORGANIZING THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN “METHODS OF TEACHING TECHNOLOGIES” IN A DISTANCE LEARNING FORMAT
Abstract
The article examines the specific features of organizing classes in the methodology of teaching technologies under distance learning conditions, the relevance of which is determined by transformations in Ukraine’s educational space, processes of societal informatization, and wartime challenges. It is substantiated that distance learning is not only an alternative but, in certain circumstances, the only possible form of ensuring learners’ right to education. The study analyzes scholarly approaches to the problem of distance learning in higher education institutions and identifies the insufficient elaboration of issues related to organizing classes in the methodology of teaching technologies in a distance format. The purpose of the article is to elucidate the peculiarities of organizing classes in the “Methodology of Teaching Technologies” under distance learning conditions. The article reveals the didactic principles of distance learning, including productivity, individualization, openness of the educational space, activity-oriented content of education, integration of pedagogical and telecommunication technologies, optimal combination of face-to-face and distance forms, and activity-based criteria for assessing learning outcomes. The synchronous, asynchronous, and blended modes of distance instruction are characterized, and their potential in organizing lectures, practical classes, consultations, independent study, and students’ research activities is determined. The main organizational forms of distance classes in the methodology of teaching technologies are analyzed, including demonstration, introductory, and individual classes, web-based classes, chat-based classes, distance conferences, and academic competitions. The article outlines the specific features of assessing students’ academic achievements and emphasizes the necessity of evaluating activity-based learning outcomes. The advantages and disadvantages of distance learning in the training of future technology teachers are summarized. It is concluded that the effective organization of classes in the methodology of teaching technologies in a distance format requires purposeful adaptation of educational content, enhancement of the digital competence of participants in the educational process, and the selection of appropriate teaching methods and instructional tools.
