A Reading of the Book of Quranic Geography: Miraculous Proof of the Greatness of the Creator
Abstract
These new studies and readings in history and geography, addressed in the seventh section of the brochure for the Eighth International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences, appealed to me as a researcher in geography. Geography, with its diverse branches and numerous connections to other sciences, naturally requires ongoing research, reading, and study. Hence, this paper offers a fresh perspective on the title of a recently chosen geographical book that explores the relationship between geography and the Book of God, which is free from falsehood, under the title: "Quranic Geography: A Miraculous Proof of the Creator's Greatness," authored by Professor Fawzi Hamid. This book tackles a novel and valuable topic concerning the scientific miracles of the Quran, a subject explored by a group of scholars, each contributing their perspective, albeit with different titles and objectives. These scholars include Raed Rakan in his work on astronomical geographical miracles, Dr. Fawzi Al-Sherbini in his study of geographical phenomena in the Holy Quran, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Metwally in his encyclopedic work on the miracles of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah, and Dr. Adnan Al-Sharif in his book on Quranic earth sciences. Therefore, this paper presents a fair and honest reading of this book, focusing on four main themes: Theme 1: Reading the book as a literary resource that broadens culture and develops writing skills. Theme 2: First, an introduction to the author. Second, a presentation of the book. Theme 3: The book's content and objectives, explored through its vocabulary and chapter structure. Theme 4: The citations and opinions presented by the author and substantiated within the context of the book's title. The paper concludes with a set of findings and recommendations.
