Building human relations in the short sayings of Imam Zain Al-Abidin (peace be upon him): A study in light of the implicit sayings.
Abstract
This study seeks to uncover the hidden worlds and the unseen meanings of the linguistic methods, means, and tools employed by Imam Zayn al-Abidin (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him) in his concise sayings, in order to build human relations in society. The research studied and analyzed those texts in light of the implicit statements that fall within the pragmatic framework, in order to reach the implicit meanings that those texts contained, and to identify the indirect meanings that the Imam (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him) intended in calling for the building of man and society, and thus building human relations in a sound manner according to the Islamic Qur’anic perspective. His sayings (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him) were presented in their entirety in the style of informative statements, which revealed a number of implicit meanings such as: advice, guidance, encouragement, intimidation, excitement, direction, command, obligation, and others.
