Abstract

Dermoid cysts are rare, benign, well-circumscribed ectodermal inclusion cysts, constituting approximately 0.3% of all brain tumors. These cysts are often found in cisternal spaces, particularly in the parasellar region, and are characterized by the presence of internal fat. On Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), dermoid cysts appear hyperintense on T1-weighted images and show signal suppression on fat-suppressed sequences. On Computed Tomography (CT), they exhibit low density due to their lipid content. This case report describes a 72-year-old woman with insomnia and forgetfulness, where imaging studies revealed a suprasellar mass with fat density. Surgical excision confirmed the diagnosis of a dermoid cyst. The distinct radiological features, including fat content and lack of contrast enhancement, helped confirm the diagnosis. We aimed to describe a radiologically diagnosed dermoid cyst.
