Abstract

Sustainable development has emerged as one of the most significant and urgent global priorities of the 21st century. The increasing challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, economic inequality, rapid urbanization, and social injustice have compelled scholars, policymakers, industries, and communities to rethink conventional models of growth and progress. The concept of sustainable development, popularized by the World Commission on Environment and Development in its landmark 1987 report Our Common Future, emphasizes development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This foundational idea continues to guide global discourse and action. In recent years, the adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 marked a transformative moment in international cooperation. These 17 goals provide a comprehensive framework that integrates environmental sustainability, economic prosperity, and social inclusion. However, achieving these goals requires more than isolated efforts within single disciplines. It calls for an integrated, multidisciplinary research approach that bridges the gap between science, technology, economics, management, social sciences, public policy, and community engagement. This book, A Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Research on Sustainable Development, seeks to explore sustainability from diverse academic and practical perspectives. It recognizes that environmental issues cannot be addressed without considering economic systems; economic growth cannot be sustained without social equity; and social development cannot flourish without ecological balance.By combining insights from environmental science, engineering, business management, public administration, agriculture, health sciences, and education, this work aims to present a holistic understanding of sustainable development. The multidisciplinary approach adopted in this research acknowledges the interconnectedness of global systems.Climate change impacts agricultural productivity, which in turn affects food security and public health.Industrial growth influences resource consumption and waste generation, which shape environmental quality and community well-being.Policy decisions influence investment patterns, technological innovation, and behavioral change. Therefore, sustainable development must be studied and implemented as an integrated system rather than as fragmented initiatives. This volume also highlights the importance of innovation, responsible governance, ethical leadership, and community participation in promoting sustainable practices. It examines contemporary challenges such as renewable energy adoption, circular economy models, sustainable urban planning, green finance, corporate social responsibility, and inclusive growth strategies.Through empirical studies, theoretical analyses, case discussions, and policy reviews, the research presented in this book contributes to both academic advancement and practical solutions. The objective of this comprehensive work is not only to analyze problems but also to inspire action.Sustainable development is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration among governments, industries, educational institutions, civil society, and individuals.By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and encouraging evidence-based decision-making, this book aspires to support sustainable transformation at local, national, and global levels
