Abstract

The intensive growth of mobile learning systems carried out on the next-generation wireless networks have created a new security dilemma because of the dynamically moving mobility, heterogeneous access technology, and tough requirements on quality-of-service (QoS). Traditional wireless security systems can be said to be relatively fixed and lack support of real-time network dynamic and changing threat patterns resulting in poor learning performance and susceptibility to cyber-attacks. This paper is aimed at resolving these shortcomings by suggesting a wireless security architecture which is a next-generation wireless security architecture specifically targeted at mobile learning environment. The intelligent threat detection and adaptive security control is proposed to be integrated into the architecture so that the network level attacks can be efficiently identified and mitigated to maintain the efficiency of the communication process. The enhanced security and threat detectionalgorithms are used to track the wireless traffic behaviour and allow making a real-time adjustment of security policy to different network conditions. It evaluates the overall performance based on the security and network QoS attributes such as attack detection accuracy and their precision, recall, end to end latency, throughput, packet delivery ratio, and reliability when moving. Simulation evidence proves that the proposed architecture is effective regarding threat detection, which is lower in latency and high throughput than traditional and static security schemes. The results show the relevance of clever, quality of service endowed security frameworks in guaranteeing both reliable and secure mobile learning services across the next generation wireless communication systems.
