Abstract
Trauma of the maxillofacial region is one of the pressing problems of modern medicine, and the complications arising from it form complex pathological processes in the practice of dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. This scientific article analyses the necrosis of the teeth and jaw bones and the damage to the periodontal tissues that develop after maxillofacial trauma, together with their anatomical and pathophysiological foundations. Under the influence of traumatic factors, the disruption of the blood supply to the maxillofacial region and the emergence of trophic insufficiency in bone and soft tissues create the basis for the development of necrotic processes. Inflammation of the periodontal tissues, disturbance of microcirculation and temperature changes lead to the deepening of the pathological process. The article describes, on the basis of scientific sources, the types of maxillofacial trauma, the mechanisms of fractures, the complications encountered during treatment and their statistical relevance. This analytical work serves as a theoretical foundation for understanding the long-term consequences of maxillofacial trauma.
