Abstract

This research presents the development and validation of the tranaglyph mobile application designed to become a supplementary vision therapy instrument. This study adopted a validation design, which utilized the content and construct validation methods to evaluate the accuracy of the mobile application compared to the conventional tranaglyph. There were 37 qualified subjects drawn using the purposive sampling technique from the 384 first- and second-year students of S.Y 2022-2023 from CEU Manila through the eligibility examination. The assessment of the vision therapists showed an overall mean score of 3.56 (SD = 0.767), interpreted as a “highly agreeable” classification, validating the developed TranaGo mobile application. The software engineers’ assessment revealed “Excellent” ratings on the App Quality and “Acceptable” ratings on the Subjective Quality. Moreover, the results between the prism diopter measurements of the TranaGo mobile application and the conventional tranaglyph showed no significant differences based on the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, based on the p-value of 0.448, exceeding its 0.05 threshold. Results show that the TranaGo mobile application is comparable to the conventional tranaglyph and it has a potential as a supplementary tool in vision therapy.
