PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DA DENGUE NO MUNICÍPIO DE PARAUAPEBAS
Abstract
The present study seeks to understand the sanitary conditions of the population and the problems they cause, the absence of these services causes serious consequences for the population. Its objective is Dengue is part of a group of diseases called arboviruses, which are characterized by being caused by viruses transmitted by arthropod vectors. In Brazil, the dengue vector is the female Aedes aegypti mosquito. Dengue is an acute, systemic, dynamic, debilitating and self- limiting febrile disease. Most patients recover, however, some of them may progress to severe forms, including death. Data from Semsa indicate that, from January to March 2025, 1,126 probable cases of dengue were reported, with 377 confirmed cases to date. Objective: The objective of this study is to use information from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) to determine the epidemiological profile of Dengue in the municipality of Parauapebas, located in southeastern Pará. Methodology: This is a descriptive, retrospective, quantitative epidemiological study that analyzed data on dengue cases in a given period from 2020 to 2025, in the municipality of Parauapebas. The information was collected through the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) and health secretaries of the municipality, Unified Health System SUS, World Health Organization (WHO). Results and discussion: The distribution of Dengue cases highlights the balance of cases between men and women, with small variations from year to year in Parauapebas. It is also possible to observe that the most affected age group is people aged 20-39, the economically active class, due to the fact that they work outdoors and are in frequent contact with people who may be infected. Conclusion: The results emphasize the endemic nature of dengue fever in Parauapebas and its incidence, highlighting the need for surveillance and control actions for the disease. However, the study presented shows that combating dengue fever in the municipality of Parauapebas requires an integrated approach that includes government and community actions to promote vector control and eliminate breeding sites.
