Abstract

The impact of philosophical ideas on modernity is vast, profoundly influencing areas such as science, politics, ethics and culture. Modern philosophy has brought new ways of questioning reality, redefining the relationship between man, knowledge and the world around him. Movements such as the Enlightenment and Rationalism shaped contemporary thought, emphasizing the importance of reason and criticism. Philosophical ideas from thinkers such as Descartes, Kant and Nietzsche challenged traditions and opened space for new ways of thinking about freedom, morality and progress. In politics, philosophical concepts about equality and human rights were fundamental to the development of modern democracies. In science, philosophy helped to question and define methods of investigation and the search for knowledge. Furthermore, modernity has brought a deeper reflection on the human condition, the meaning of life and the role of the individual in society. The impact of these ideas continues to be felt today, with philosophy playing a crucial role in critically analyzing contemporary challenges, such as ethical questions raised by new technologies and political and environmental crises. Thus, modern philosophy has not only shaped Western thought, but continues to profoundly influence the way we interpret the world and make decisions.
