Abstract

ABSTRACT Training in Family and Community Medicine (FCM) requires the development of competencies that go beyond technical knowledge, including communication, teamwork, professionalism, and person-centered care, especially within the context of Primary Health Care (PHC). In this scenario, traditional assessment models present limitations in capturing the complexity of these competencies. This study aims to report the experience of a Family and Community Medicine resident who was experimentally subjected to a 360-degree evaluation, analyzing its formative potential. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, presented as an experience report, conducted within a Family and Community Medicine Residency Program in the municipality of Anápolis, Goiás, throughout the year 2024. The 360-degree evaluation was applied quarterly and involved multiple assessment sources, including self-assessment, evaluations by the preceptor, the multiprofessional team, fellow residents, medical interns, and health service users, with anonymity and structured feedback ensured. The experience demonstrated that multisource assessment promoted critical self-assessment, reflective development, and the progressive improvement of technical and relational competencies. It is concluded that the 360-degree evaluation constitutes a relevant formative tool in Family and Community Medicine residency training, especially when applied continuously and combined with qualified feedback.
