Abstract

This article discusses the theme of sexuality during pre-adolescence, understanding it as a fundamental aspect of human development that encompasses biological, psychological, and social dimensions. In a context marked by technological advancement and broad access to information, it is observed that many pre-adolescents still face doubts, insecurities, and a lack of adequate guidance, both within the family environment and at school. The research is grounded in pedagogical practices experienced in a fifth-grade elementary school classroom, integrating curricular content from Natural Sciences and Portuguese Language with guidelines established by educational policies and the rights guaranteed by the Statute of the Child and Adolescent. The study aims to contribute to the demystification of taboos related to sexuality by promoting dialogue, self-knowledge, and the development of responsible attitudes, with a focus on preventing issues such as early pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, prejudice, and bullying. It is concluded that the school plays an essential role in the holistic education of students and must address this topic in an educational, ethical, and welcoming manner.
