EDUCAÇÃO PERMANENTE EM PARADA CARDIORRESPIRATÓRIA NA ATENÇÃO PRIMÁRIA DE ANÁPOLIS: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA
Abstract
Introduction: Cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) is a cardiovascular emergency with high prevalence and mortality, making out-of-hospital care a critical public health challenge. The success of cardiopulmonary resuscitation depends on early recognition, immediate activation of emergency services, and the qualified practice of healthcare teams. Objective: To report the experience of a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for a multidisciplinary Primary Health Care (PHC) team in Anápolis, Goiás. Methodology: This is an intervention project carried out at the Jardim Alexandrina Family Health Unit, involving theoretical-practical lectures and simulations with professionals from various categories, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and community health agents. Results: The training reached professionals who, in part, had never received formal BLS training, resulting in improved understanding of CPA identification and increased confidence in performing chest compressions. It was observed that the simulation methodology was fundamental for content retention and for strengthening teamwork. Conclusion: The experience reaffirms the importance of continuing education in PHC, recommending annual retraining to prevent the decline of technical skills and ensure agile and safe care for CPA victims.
