Abstract

Ceramics have become increasingly consolidated as a material of interest in contemporary jewelry design, combining aesthetic innovation with superior technical properties. This study aims to explore the use of ceramics in jewelry design, with an emphasis on identifying the most suitable materials and techniques for the production of ergonomic, safe, and comfortable earrings. A systematic literature review was conducted, following the PRISMA protocol and the PICO strategy to guide the selection and analysis of relevant studies. The results revealed a significant gap in the literature, highlighting the lack of approaches that simultaneously integrate ceramic, structural, and ergonomic aspects. The analysis underscores the need for greater attention to ergonomic requirements to ensure comfort and safety in the use of ceramic adornments. This research constitutes part of a master’s dissertation and seeks to contribute to the consolidation of ceramics as a material of high artistic and functional expression in the jewelry field, articulating tradition, innovation, and technical knowledge in a critical and integrated manner.
