EFEITOS DO USO DE ÁCIDO ASCÓRBICO INTRAVENOSO NA REDUÇÃO DO USO DE VASOPRESSORES E ESTABILIDADE HEMODINÂMICA: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
Abstract
Introduction: Ascorbic acid acts as an essential cofactor in the synthesis of endogenous catecholamines (norepinephrine and epinephrine), directly influencing vascular tone and hemodynamic response. Objective: To analyze the correlation between vitamin C administration and the reduction of vasopressor consumption for hemodynamic stabilization. Methodology: An integrative review was conducted using the PubMed database (2016–2026), employing MeSH terms and Boolean operators. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied for a rigorous sample selection. Results: From the initial 14 articles, 4 were selected. Current literature suggests a benefit in reducing vasopressor doses in critically ill patients (ICU). However, no studies were found with a primary focus on intraoperative anesthetic management for blood pressure rescue. Conclusion: Vitamin C appears to be a promising adjuvant for hemodynamic stability; however, robust evidence applied to anesthesiology is still lacking. Targeted clinical trials are necessary to evaluate its impact on reducing vasoactive drug requirements in the perioperative setting.
