Abstract

This article discusses the influence of emotional intelligence on effective leadership, based on a literature review of key authors in the field. It analyzes how emotional competencies—such as self-awareness, selfregulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills—contribute to a more assertive leadership style capable of managing conflicts, engaging teams, and fostering a healthy organizational environment. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence is a fundamental element in the exercise of contemporary leadership, playing a decisive role in team performance and the development of balanced professional relationships. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of promoting the development of emotional skills within organizations, as emotionally intelligent leaders tend to demonstrate greater adaptability, decision-making capacity, and people management abilities—essential factors for achieving institutional goals and ensuring long-term organizational sustainability.
