APLICAÇÃO DO FLUXO DIGITAL NA REABILITAÇÃO ORAL
Abstract
Dentistry has advanced significantly with the incorporation of digital workflow, especially in treatments focused on oral rehabilitation. Technological innovations have enhanced prosthetic results, promoting greater precision, efficiency, and a reduction in the number of appointments, directly impacting patient satisfaction. However, challenges remain related to the high cost of equipment, the need for professional training, and the choice of the type of device and restoration to be manufactured. This study aimed to conduct a narrative literature review on the application of digital workflow in oral rehabilitation, with emphasis on the use of intraoral scanners, CAD/CAM systems, and 3D printing. Data collection was performed in the Lilacs, BVS/BIREME, PubMed, Medline, SciELO, EBSCO, BVS Odontologia, ResearchGate, MDPI, and RevistaFT databases, using the keywords: digital workflow; CAD/CAM; intraoral scanner; 3D printing; oral rehabilitation, combined using the Boolean operator AND. Systematic reviews, case studies, review studies, scientific articles, journal articles, and books published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish between 2020 and 2025 that met the proposed objective were included. The selection resulted in the inclusion of 100 studies, analyzed in an exploratory and interpretive manner, identifying relevant themes, concepts, and findings. The review highlighted the main digital tools applied to the fabrication of dental prostheses and restorations, emphasizing their advantages and limitations in the clinical context. Although the digital workflow represents an advance, further studies are needed to consolidate digital protocols in oral rehabilitation.
