Abstract

This study explores the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership within the context of the Cooperativa Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Limitada (COOPENSA Ltda.) in 2024. Employing a relational research design, the study aimed to identify which emotional competencies—such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills— are associated with various leadership styles, including democratic, exemplary, authoritarian, coaching, coercive, and affiliative. The sample consisted of 15 staff members from the organization. The results revealed a significant correlation between emotional intelligence and leadership, with empathy and awareness emerging as the most developed dimensions. These findings provide valuable insights into the dynamics of emotional intelligence in cooperative environments and underscore the importance of fostering emotional competencies to enhance leadership effectiveness.
