Abstract

Materials with particles in liquid form provide important research areas in the study of matter and show considerable development over recent decades. These systems contain solid elements distributed within liquid environments, and the particles range from very small to larger scales. The behavior that these systems show and the properties that can be changed make them a main focus for investigation. Studies over recent decades examine basic processes such as the formation of ordered structures, the initial appearance of solid forms, transition to disordered states, and imperfections in structure. The findings from this work develop and strengthen the understanding of changes between different phases. Research that examines these systems, which allow direct observation, reveals patterns in the movement of particles in flat arrangements at small scales. The features that these systems possess make it possible to understand how particles organize without external direction. Control of particle form and arrangement creates different approaches for directing the process of organization. This work presents recent findings in the study of these materials in the field of examining matter, with a focus on their arrangement, movement patterns, and uses, and describes new directions for investigation and discusses possible future issues.
