Abstract

The aim of this study was to report the importance of preventing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in soccer athletes, as well as to identify the main associated risk factors and the most effective preventive methods. The study was conducted through a review of the scientific literature based on articles and journals indexed in the PubMed and SciELO databases. The analysis of the studies demonstrated that multiple factors contribute to the occurrence of ACL injuries. Therefore, the implementation of preventive interventions based on assessments, functional tests, and specific training programs is essential to reduce injury risk, minimize time away from sport, improve athletic performance, and promote greater longevity in sports practice.
