Abstract

This study examines the relationship between staff turnover and organizational performance in Nigerian manufacturing firms. Using a survey research design, data were collected from 250 employees across 15 manufacturing companies in Lagos and Ogun states. The study employed descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis to test the hypotheses. Findings revealed that voluntary turnover has a significant negative effect on productivity (β = -0.486, p < 0.05), profitability (β = -0.523, p < 0.05), and employee morale (β = -0.612, p < 0.05). The study concludes that high staff turnover rates significantly impair organizational performance in Nigerian manufacturing firms. Recommendations include developing robust retention strategies, implementing competitive compensation packages, and fostering positive organizational culture to mitigate turnover challenges.
