Estrategias motrices basadas en metodologías activas: impacto en el desarrollo de la coordinación, la motivación y el rendimiento físico en estudiantes.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of motor strategies based on active methodologies on the development of motor coordination, motivation towards Physical Education, and physical performance in basic education students. A quantitative approach was adopted, using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design with a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of 108 basic education students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group participated in a pedagogical intervention grounded in active methodologies, including motor challenges, cooperative activities, and problem-solving tasks in meaningful contexts, while the control group followed traditional Physical Education instruction. Data were collected using standardized instruments to assess motor coordination, motivation towards Physical Education, and physical performance. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics and Student’s t-tests for related and independent samples, with a significance level set at p < .05. The results revealed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group across all analyzed variables. Notably, significant improvements were observed in motor coordination, increased levels of motivation towards Physical Education, and enhanced physical performance following the intervention. In addition, a positive association was identified between students’ motivation levels and their physical performance outcomes. In conclusion, the implementation of motor strategies based on active methodologies represents an effective pedagogical approach to promoting comprehensive development in Physical Education, enhancing not only physical performance but also motivation and motor competence in school contexts.
