Scalable Digital Infrastructure for Connected Care Networks
Abstract
Connected Care Networks (CCNs) provide coherent frameworks for delivering preventive, predictive, personalized, and participatory health services. However, their operationalization remains inadequate, notably in digital service infrastructure for network management and assurance of determinable outcomes. A digital infrastructure framework based on response scalabilitythe capacity to adapt service availability, cloud resources, or edge devices to variations in demand—is essential for developing CCNs and realize economy-of-scale benefits. Modular design, cloud-native and edge-enabled architectures, data architecture with semantic cataloging, and support for distributed services are prerequisites for realizing scalable digital infrastructures.
