Abstract

This article aims to investigate how the regulations regarding remote work in the Courts of Auditors align with the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) from the 2030 Agenda. Remote work has become a global trend, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, offering flexibility but also bringing environmental challenges and impacts. The research objectives include identifying strategies to better align remote work in the Courts of Auditors with the principles of SDG 8, mapping challenges and opportunities related to remote work in these institutions, and proposing recommendations for its implementation. The employed methodology is mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, involving secondary data analysis from reliable sources, documental research, and a focus on investigating all remote work regulations in the Brazilian Courts of Auditors, with attention to their alignment with SDG 8, which promotes decent work and economic growth. The expected results aim to provide insights into how remote work can be better aligned with the sustainable development goals of the UN 2030 Agenda. These results could contribute to public policies and business practices promoting sustainable development through remote work. This article addresses a current and relevant issue, connecting the world of work with the pursuit of global sustainable development, and seeks to provide valuable information for public institutions interested in promoting a more sustainable future.
