Abstract

Background: Hypertension is frequently associated with metabolic abnormalities, including dyslipidemia and elevated serum uric acid, which together increase cardiovascular risk. Understanding their interrelationship may help in early risk stratification of hypertensive patients. Objective: To evaluate the correlation between serum uric acid levels and lipid profile parameters in patients with hypertension. Methodology: This case control study included 75 diagnosed hypertensive patients and 75 controlled. Fasting blood samples were collected to measure serum uric acid and lipid profile parameters—total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). The relationship between serum uric acid and lipid parameters was assessed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient. A p-value
