Abstract

This article examines the emotional factors that influence the perception of statistics and study methods among veterinary medicine students at the Agrarian University of Ecuador during the period 2025–2026. A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational design was implemented, using the CEVET-10 test and a Likert-type questionnaire to assess attitudes, emotions, and perceptions toward statistics. The objective was to identify elements such as motivation, anxiety, and perceived usefulness that affect the learning of quantitative subjects, suggesting that an in-depth study approach is related to lower anxiety and greater interest. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results provide evidence for optimizing teaching strategies, reducing statistical anxiety, increasing motivation, and strengthening quantitative literacy, underscoring the need to validate reliable psychometric instruments that measure attitudes, emotions, and beliefs about statistics
