Abstract

This study examines the relationship between anemia and cognitive development in children aged 3 to 5 from a public institution in los Olivos in 2025. The aim is to determine how iron deficiency and other nutritional factors influence mental functions such as memory, Attention, language, and basic cognitive abilities. A quantitative approach and correlational design will be used with a stratified probabilistic sample. Anemia will be assessed through hemoglobin levels and physiological indicators, while cognitive development will be measured using standardized tests, likert-type questionnaires, and school records. It is expected that anemic children will show difficulties in neuropsychological processes, which will support the development of nutritional prevention strategies and educational programs aimed at improving child well-being in vulnerable contexts.
