Molecularly imprinted β-cyclodextrin-based polymers for antibiotic recognition: synthesis and characterization
Abstract
The newly synthesized β-cyclodextrin-based molecularly imprinted polymers were tested in the sorption of levofloxacin and meropenem. The polymer structure and complete template removal were confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy, and pH-dependent sorption studies demonstrated optimal binding at pH 3 and efficient desorption at pH 10. These findings establish a regenerable, selective platform for antibiotic extraction from aqueous environments.
