Phytochemical Screening of traditionally used Medicinal Plants in Lora Region, Pakistan
Abstract
The malaria and dengue diseases transmitted by infected female mosquitoes Anopheles and Aedes aegypti are of great threat globally. The data were gathered from different age group patients at Civil Hospital Khairpur and Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences in the month of September and October, 2024. A total of (n=2462) malaria and dengue cases were reported from the outpatient department, (OPD) of GIMS and (n=3000) malaria and dengue cases were recorded from the (OPD) of Civil Hospital Khairpur. The five year children’s were found at highest (21) % of malaria, and (02) % dengue, followed by (60) plus years old patients malaria at (18) % and dengue (2.15) %, (6-10 years) malaria (14) % and dengue (1.3) %, (51-60 years) malaria (13)% and dengue (1) %, (41-50) malaria (11) % and dengue (1) %, (21-30 years) malaria (8) % and dengue (0.40) %, (11-20) malaria (7) % and dengue (0.50) %, (31-40 years) malaria (6) % and dengue (0.60) %, abdominal pain (37)-(19) %. The frequent symptoms among the patients including weakness (61)-(67) %, nausea and vomiting (49)-(71) %, body ache (46)-(35) %, headache (34)-(23) %, cough (13)-(38) %, dyspnea (11)-(44) %, diarrhea (9)-(15) %, bleeding tendencies (7)-(10) % were recorded among malaria and dengue patients. The average white blood cells (3846.61th/µl), (4739.37 th/µl), neutrophils (79.35/µl), (53.24/µl), lymphocytes (26.49±03/µl), (38.32/µl), hemoglobin (10.05 g/dl), (12.15 g/dl), hematocrit (28.22/µl), (36.68/µl), and platelets (45.11/µl), (54.27/µl) were recorded in malaria and gangue patients. This study suggests that immediate action can be taken to restrict the disease transmission and more work should be carried on to prevent the person dying from the disease of malaria and dengue.
