Abstract
This bundle contains audio recordings of Claudia Juárez Chávez for data examples presented in the phonetic illustration of San Juan Piñas Mixtec: Van Doren, Maxine, Claudia Duarte Borquez, Claudia Juárez Chávez & Gabriela Caballero. (2024). Illustration of San Juan Piñas Mixtec. Journal of the International Phonetic Association (JIPA) 54(2): 853-882. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1017/S002510032400015X Each section within the paper corresponds to a folder within this bundle. These section folders contain the individual audio files for each example provided in the paper. This bundle additionally contains: (i) a copy of the published paper; (ii) a supplementary word list with transcriptions and translations of all data examples created by Maxine Van Doren (also available online: https://osf.io/crsvd/files/tbrvk); and (iii) a metadata spreadsheet that provides individual audio file names and their corresponding section within this bundle and the published paper. The data examples contained in this bundle were elicited during weekly elicitation sessions made in different locations from 2020 to 2024. Prior to March 2020, all recordings were conducted at UC San Diego in a quiet room using a lavalier microphone and a Marantz PMD660 Portable Solid State Recorder (44.1k Hz sampling rate and 16-bit quantization). After March 2020, recordings were completed in a quiet room at the speaker’s home using the same microphone and recording device. Additional recordings were collected in a sound-attenuated booth at UC San Diego using a standing Octava MK-319 condenser microphone and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 pre-amp and digitizer (44.1k Hz sampling rate and 16-bit quantization).
