Abstract This contribution celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Rivista di diritto romano. It is appreciated for its innovation in 2001 as an online, open-access journal, for the elegance of its format and style, and for the quality of the articles published. Above all, it is appreciated for the honesty, generosity and scientific rigour of its founder and editor Ferdinando Zuccotti: characteristics that are still present today thanks to the new management.
