Abstract
Abstract This paper addresses the legal status of children born to a female slave who was the beneficiary of a fideicommissum of liberty, during a period of default or delay in her manumission. It examines this issue through the lens of the favor shown toward the unborn child, who, in my view, is identified as a conceptually autonomous subject.
