Dissecting RIPK3 Autophosphorylation with the Potent Necroptosis Inhibitor UH15-38
Abstract
This poster, “Dissecting RIPK3 Autophosphorylation with the Potent Necroptosis Inhibitor UH15-38,” represents my research conducted under the supervision of Dr. Alexei Degterev and Ioannis Siokas at the Tufts School of Medicine as part of the Laidlaw Scholars Program. My project focuses on uncovering the molecular mechanisms that regulate necroptosis—a form of programmed cell death implicated in inflammation and neurodegeneration. Using a newly developed inhibitor, UH15-38, I aim to identify previously uncharacterized phosphorylation events that control activation of the necroptosis effector kinase RIPK3. By integrating biochemical, molecular, and proteomic approaches, this work contributes to a deeper understanding of regulated cell death and lays the groundwork for developing therapeutics to mitigate necroptosis-driven diseases.
