Prevención y riesgo de las vacunas COVID-19. Un análisis de los encuadres de noticias en México
Abstract
This study analyzes media coverage of COVID-19 vaccines using framing theory and prospection. Framing theory posits that the media do not merely report facts but also shape and prioritize certain aspects of reality, which can influence audience interpretation. Prospection suggests that loss frames emphasize the risks of not getting vaccinated, while gain frames highlight the benefits of immunization. The Random Forest technique is used to identify patterns across 34,089 news articles from Mexican media published between December 2020 and 2021. This research provides an empirical analysis of how these frames influence the promotion of vaccination through various informational approaches grounded in scientific evidence.
