Viralidad versus veracidad: medición algorítmica del discurso de odio en el plebiscito 2022 de Chile
Abstract
Between 2020 and 2023, Chile underwent a constitutional process that included three plebiscites to ratify a new Constitution. During this period, there was widespread information disorder characterized by both disinformation and digital violence. The Constitutional Convention, the body responsible for drafting the first proposal for a new Constitution, was particularly affected. In this context, this research aimed to explore and characterize violent communication against the Constitutional Convention by developing an automatic digital violence classifier, a tool capable of measuring violent communication online. The findings show coordinated digital attacks intended to undermine the constitutional process by creating an environment of information disorder.
