BackTapBench Standardized Dataset
Abstract
BackTapBench is a standardized dataset of back‑of‑device tap interactions captured using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 running Android 9. Five participants performed controlled taps on a 3×3 grid while seated, using their right hand and index finger. The dataset includes synchronized accelerometer, gyroscope, and high‑frequency accelerometer signals segmented around each tap. It is designed for benchmarking tap‑recognition algorithms, sensor‑fusion methods, and mobile interaction research.
