BS6 Vehicle After-Treatment System Degradation: Hyderabad Urban Fleet Case Study )
Abstract
This dataset provides a simulated and synthesized analysis of Bharat Stage VI (BS6) vehicle after-treatment system longevity in Hyderabad, India. It explores the correlation between fuel chemistry—specifically E20 ethanol-blended petrol and sulphur-contaminated diesel—and the degradation of critical emission control hardware such as Three-Way Catalytic Converters (TWC), Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. The data categorizes vehicles into "Personal" and "Commercial" usage profiles to model failure mechanisms like thermal sintering, hygroscopic corrosion, and non-combustible sulphate ash accumulation. This research is critical for understanding the shift in automotive reliability costs as India transitions to higher ethanol blends and stringent BS6 norms.
