Abstract

This dataset compiles documented incidents of artificial intelligence–enabled fraud and deepfake-related crimes from around the world, providing a comprehensive resource for the systematic analysis of emerging digital threats. It encompasses a wide range of cases involving synthetic media, AI-generated impersonation, and automated deception techniques used for financial fraud, identity theft, misinformation, and social engineering. By aggregating incidents across regions, sectors, and time periods, the dataset facilitates comparative analyses of trends, methods, impacts, and countermeasures associated with AI-driven fraud. The dataset is designed to support interdisciplinary research, risk assessment, and the development of detection, prevention, and regulatory strategies to address the growing misuse of AI and deepfake technologies globally.
